I start with Polar Express O-Scale set, then add cars on each year following: Hobo, Bagging, and Hot Chocolate.  Now I need two more to complete following: Diner and Conductor Announcement to be complete 8 cars plus locomotive.

Last year, I notice new 2 heavyweight cars and now 2 more new this years.  I notice that heavyweight has 6 axles compare to 4 axles (Baby Madison) and It has more detail inside. (I never see or touch real one yet, just read information on website)

My question. Do heavyweight cars is worth to replace baby madison?  I would like to have real "look & feel" model from movie.  I would like to hear your feedback and your opinion.  Would you replace or not? Why? Explain your perspective.

The two sets are in two entirely different worlds and are not interchangeable. The original set introduced in 2004 is an 0-27 set, while the scale set requires a minimum of 0-54. There is a sizable difference in cost. Yes the scale PE coaches have more detail and have interiors verses silhouette  window treatments.

Depends just how deep your interest in the Polar Express story and how much you want to invest to recreate the train part of it. Lionel in it's 10th Anniversary offerings has re-introduced the scale 1225 Berkshire and some of the scale passenger cars. Check their Christmas catalog, but don't expect the 0-27 pricing or you will have some serious sticker shock.
