And please add any pertinate information that can help us chronicle these "ahead of their time" locomotives

Here are my newly arrived Northern Pacific F7's from the 2000 catalog. Probably the 2nd phase of production which succeeded the first models introduced in 1997 with scale ABA F units with truck mounted motors in all three engines. Thanks to MERKREWSER for this information.

These have TMCC and vertical motors but no cruise nor smoke in either A's. The B unit has smoke however.

I have this set, with the B unit and the cars. It's really a gorgeous set. The cars are very hard to find (there's also a matching heavyweight business car, the "Yellowstone"), and I've never seen another B unit. The B is unpowered. The two dual-motored A units work very well together. Personally, I'm glad they don't have smoke units - simpler layout, and less to go wrong (a consideration with engines from a company no longer in business). At some point I'll be adding ERR cruise units to them.

Thank you so much for posting this amazing video Don. When I first returned to the hobby in the fall/winter of 2008 I came across this somewhere and it really piqued my interest in the trains in general but also inspired me to start thinking and planing my first real layout.

You have a real jewel of a video here that I hope people outside of the hobby can be exposed to somehow...
