Does anyone have tips or tricks for getting the post-war 3456 operating hopper mechanism to work well? I have two of these hopper cars, and on both, the hopper doors usually get stuck open after being operated by the electromagnet. I've taken it apart as much as possible, cleaned it, etc. The plunger operates fairly freely, and spring still seems to be strong. But the doors often jam against the angled metal closers. If help them along a bit, they will close and stay closed. I don't want to use oil -- would seem to attract dust and gunk up over time, but maybe I should try some graphite?
