Problem with Santa Fe Chief | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

My son told me today that the Santa Fe Chief I bought for his son a couple of years ago has a problem with the front truck. (6-38231) He opened the box just this year, and discovered that the wheel cover was off on one side of the truck. He's not sure if it is broken or has just come loose. I looked for a parts breakdown for this loco, but was not able to locate one. Does anyone know how the plastic covers are attached? It looks like I may have to remove the entire drive set to access the plastic parts. I'm just not sure how to go about it. A parts diagram would probably help, or, if anyone has any ideas, I'd be grateful for any help. Bob Severin

Bill, item 48 looks like it. From the picture, it looks like it may be one piece, and is probably broken. I haven't seen the loco yet.
