Hello Everyone,

Last month I posted about the sound problem with my Y6B - I now have another problem.

When I ran my engine after making some track changes I noticed that the bell would ring on start up and often upon every change of direction or move into neutral. Sometimes with the bell ringing I cant activate the whistle although this is fine once I shut the bell off.

I have checked for damaged brokenm wires, shorts and cleaned all the rollers. I can't seem to do a re-set to dfactory settings either as the bell ringing gets in the way!

I am using a CW80 but this engine and all my other MTh have always worked fine with it and I have re-set this engine before with the same controller. I should also mention the Y6b is an early PS2 with 5v boards

Am I missing anything?  I run conventional but a friend has DCS so I could try a reset there.

Any ideas guys?

CHEERS MIKE

My first guess is the CW80 it is NOT on Mths list of recommended transformers in the back of the loco owners manual, I would start there.

It seems some people get away with get MTH locos to respond to a CW80 only to report strange problems down the road later.

I tried operating an MTH loco with a CW 80 once, in fact it was even a railking y6b.

It didn't respond at all so I shut it down and never bother trying again.
