When I was at the MTH service school, they had special pieces of plastic that you could repair the screw posts in their shells with. You would just slide it over the broken post and glue it and trim it off. Does anyone know where to get such a thing as this??

Chuck,
Would a piece of Plastruct tubing slide over the post? How about brass tubing?
Most of the posts I've seen inside engine shells are attached with a web to the side of the shell. You might have to make a slit down the side to slip it on.
There is the old trick of sliding a drinking straw over the broken post and filling it with JB Weld. Then just redrill the screw hole.

Why not ask the folks at the MTH repair school?
I'd guess that there are a fair number of people who would like to know where to get this repair item.
I use the trick Rob points out. I've had excellent luck with the straw and JB Weld. I've now taken to using brass tubing and JB-Weld, it's bulletproof and the post stays where I put it for anything less than a CAT-5 Hurricane. Make sure you rough up the old post to allow the JB-Weld a good bonding surface.
Those all sound like great ideas, Thanks
