The AtlasO single motor drive is my smoothest running out of the box 2 rail diesel - but my early production model had three annoying issues.  First is that the face of the wheels have a very non-prototypical profile.  I've addressed the wheel profile issue by purchasing replacement geared axels from NWSL.  Two issues remain.  My SW7 the plastic axel retainer plates have developed cracks in their corners where the screws are located.  The third issue is that the truck side frames ride far outboard from the wheels  as a result of the builder using the same mounting location for both 2 and 3 rail models.

I've heard someone has fabricated replacement cast brass  retainer plates for AtlasO switcher trucks to replace failing plastic ones.  Does anyone know if the new plate's side frame mounting pads are positioned to align the brake shoes with the 2 rail wheel sets?  Are the replacement retainer plates commercially available, and if so where can I purchase a set.

Jay  - these look to be exactly what I need.  I'll write you off line to inquire about availability and price for the standard 5' gauge version.

These will make an excellent locomotive even better.  I wish AtlasO used their single motor drive in their other diesels.  For smooth slow speed operation their China drives aren't even close.

Thanks Jay
