Received 3 of my 4 Wheeling & Lake Erie SD40-2’s recently and noticed the trucks are asymmetric - just like the prototype. Unreal the trucks were designed to replicate the 1:1 scale version. I’m guessing that was Jonathan’s research on this model. Seriously impressive homework there!
I also noticed a brake chain in the small plastic bag with screws and coupler springs. Has anyone attached this? It wasn’t as difficult as I thought. Yet another detail that could’ve been overlooked.

I would love to take all the credit, but the designers in Asia who do create 3D computer models of these locomotives in Solid Works do very high-quality work when given good information. There are also several people who provided really valuable input on the prototype to pull these together throughout the long design process. All-in-all a good team effort! I'm glad the chain was provided with the model.
Ha! I thought that chain was just some "extra" for the front or rear railings if it were lost.
Good to know it has a purpose!
