I'm running Legacy locos and tmcc locos  I don't understand why my 360w power master requires 2 powerhouse inputs  The direction warn not to use only one but no explanation why Can someone explain the reason for this. I have 1 360w brick and a small layout

Because the 360W PM is designed to be run by two 180W PH (180+180=360) or it has a setting for two 135W PH. For only one 180W PH you should just use the standard LEGACY PowerMaster.

that being said if using the 360W PM with only one brick, 1 the internal current protection will never shut off power because the PH will always trip first. Not a huge deal but that’s one benefit of a PM being able to remotely reset the breaker.

and the main reason why that line is in the Lionel manual, that other Molex plug is always hot, that is technically a potential shock and short hazard, that’s them covering their butt

Of course, if you're worried about the shock from 18VAC, you need to be in a different hobby!

I thought it. But didn’t say it 😜

I have equipment that has a metal over over all of my 24V controls because it has 240V going to the transformer and UL says it has to have a cover. Mind you this is after taking a main service cover off 🙄
