My first ever purchase in York at the Wyndham Garden this AM. A Large Flyer clockwork set. Also picked up a few small items at the Billy Budd (Days Inn).

Very nice.
Steve,
I was at both of those shows today too. Are you going back tomorrow? I would enjoy meeting you and your crew. I made a few small purchases today. I have my eye on a few more. Pictures tomorrow.

Great finds, guys.
great finds guys.
We don't have a big enough area to lay out all Bob's purchases for a photo
Steve,
It was great meeting you and your crew yesterday. Nice finds too. You have to love that Flyer Pre war.
I started out at the Wyndham show too. I have a short list of things that I am looking for, but I am open to others.
Within 10 minutes of walking into the show I found this:
One item off the list.
Our group is headed to the TCA Museum open house today, and the Pennsylvania Railroad Museum. We might have to take one more trip through the Wyndham and the Billy Budd; just in case we missed something.

What is that? I just stumbled on one of those in my collection but its yellow, missing lamp covers.
This is a 2010 Wide Gauge American Flyer Lamp post.
Lionel also made a similar lamp post. Can you post a photo?

Here is a find from the Billy Budd show. An early version of the 3216.
Hoping to find more goodies when things open at the fairgrounds.

I'm jealous...

I'll be up today Greg...don't buy up everything, lol.

Not a chance PD. Are you going to the Ives Society meeting in the Orange Hall at noon? I will be there. If you see a guy with white hair and a walking stick, that will be me.

Here are two more goodies from the hunt.
This Fergusson signal came from the bandit show parking lot at the Wyndham.
And here is an Ives 3252 from a set I bought in the Silver Hall.
More to come...

Not sure what time I'll roll in, but if I get there by Noon I'll swing by. Hope you are having fun (pretty tough not to).
Didn't have much time, so stuck to my favorite members/dealers. Not much in the way of treasures. Another Flyer 3012 boxcar, this one nicer than either of the other two I already have:
A Lionel 2235T diecast tender, dirty but decent shape, except for a broken ladder:
In and out in less than four hours, spent less than $50...a good walk spoiled.
Finding nice prewar O-gauge Flyer freights with link-couplers has been tough the last few Yorks...what's up with that?
PD
The last of my goodies from York. An MTH Build a Loco motor (no picture)with Proto Drive from the MTH Parts booth. This should bring my Blue Comet 400E back to life.
A couple of Flyer cars with Type X couplers. The searchlight I did not have, the crane will be an upgrade. Only need the Borden Milk car now.
A nice 3 car set of brown Flyer coaches. The picture really amplifies the crazing, they look much nicer.
A hafner 1110 loco and tender. Needed the motor and the price was right.
Another Hafner baggage, always hard to come by.
Got a chance to meet a lot of great folks. Worked out a few deals for some future purchases.

As Arno used to say, "The fun is in the search!" All great finds! I wish I had been there!! Maybe in the Spring. Please keep posting!!!

Steve, I tried sending you the cover picture a few minutes ago. The e-mail you have listed in your profile isn't working. Send me a reply at junkerjunket1 (at) aol (dot) com

I have been looking for the 431 add on dining car for my LTC set for a year on EBay. After covering all but 2 aisles in the whole meet on Friday, there it was, it turns out it was made by Williams Reproductions, and looks like it was never run. I paid $100.
Ran it today, looks great in the set, runs great, glad I went to York!
I did a little research and found this car was made by Williams in 1978...a time when a teenager named Mike Wolf was employed there.

Standard gauge Commodore Vanderbilt - wanted one since I saw it running at Trainfest last year, and found one at York at a fair price. And met a fellow standard gauger in the process.
Steve......my only tinplate acquisition were new brass caps for an O gauge American Flyer tender truck.....but it was great to meet you and your party this York.

Bring your CV to Trainfest this year and SGMA will let you run it on their layout!

Alas,I didn't get a photo (darnit) but... I spent some time with Northwoods flyer, Papa Steve, Captain Cog, CP bob and Mr Robert S Butler.... a spirited train conversation ensued. Great way to start the York meet!
ALL great purchases, which brings us back to the old toy train adage, "buy what you like, run what you like"
I'm glad everyone is happy with their purchases, have fun and keep on training!!!!
I finally found a power supply for my Bing line side hammerhead crane - now I'll be able to unload those flatcars and gondolas in record time!

Fantastic!
I had similar plans to create a unique SGMA module that ran tinplate circus rides on "steam" power. However, I quickly discovered that train show venues would not allow me to have open flames on the SGMA layout so I never built the "steam module".
