I recently purchased a Lionel Crescent Limited steam locomotive with Legacy; and the sounds occasionally just shut off. I have to push the reset button on my hand held device to  re-start the sounds including the horn. I recently added an infra-red sensor on the track; and I am not sure if that could be playing a role.

Hi.

The 9v battery fits into the tender of your locomotive. This is fitted to prevent the sound dropping out due to any momentary power interruptions.

Here are the details from page 20 of the Crescent Limited manual.

Hopefully, fitting a fresh battery will solve your problems.

re: sound problelm

thanks for the input

my train loses sound usually at the same place in the track; so I will clean the track to see if that helps.

the sound goes off even when the infra-red detector is off; so that can't be an issue.

I will also replace the 9 v battery if cleaning the track does not work

again

thanks for your help
