At the Edison Greenberg meet in Edison, NJ, I picked up my first Legacy set for my birthday (yes, it is today).
Despite some unusual glue residue on the sides of the remote (which I cleaned up with some GooGone and avoided ruining the plastic), I picked it up for a fairly decent price in Mint condition.
The downside is, because it was kept Mint, I didn't know what version it was. After powering, I found it was the very first 1.0 version. I already know I need the latest version of Legacy to get the most benefits out of all the locomotives and rolling stock available.
Though, since most of my time has been with TMCC and DCS, I don't really know where to start. I do know Lionel offers upgrades, BUT I have questions about how to do the upgrade.
- Do I need to send it in to Lionel in NC since it's version 1.0?
- Do I need the modules or download the upgrades on my laptop, or both?
- What is the latest version right now?
Any help is always appreciated.
