It's #SwitcherSaturday Time!!!!

Lots of us out there love switchers (shifters, docksiders, yard goats, critters, etc.), so lets keep #SwitcherSaturday (a.k.a. SWSAT) rolling!

If you missed last week's SWSAT, you should really go take a look!
https://ogrforum.ogaugerr.com/...urday-2018-june-30-1

This week's picture is of a NYC #2231 K-Line MP-15, an engine that typically doesn't get much use around the RiCHY (Richmond, Chesapeake, Hudson Yard), as it's a bit rough around the edges and runs a little choppy. It's still cool and most days it just sits in the yard or on a siding, waiting for orders.

I hope everyone has a great weekend, have some switcher fun and when you get a chance - please post some switcher stuff here!

All the best...Rich Murnane

p.s. Miss the post on Saturday? NO BIG DEAL, just keep posting pictures of your favorites until the next #SwitcherSaturday

While not switcher related - I haven't had a chance to share these with you guys yet, but a few weeks back the Murnane family went down to Orlando, spent a couple days a Disney parks and a day at Universal, it was a great trip.

The world famous Disney Steam Engine!

This is my older daughter at Universal - a Harry Potter fanatic....

This is one pic I took of the G-Gauge outdoor train "layout" at Epcot, no trains running that day though :-(

The Disney Monorail is cool for sure, didn't get to ride it though.

This guy must have been sweating like crazy, it was like 99 degrees when this picture was taken, the guy never broke character once, super nice guy.

I liked this picture, except that set of hands you see on the left hand side kind of ruin it!

They did a nice job all the way around with the scenery.

Happy SWSat Guys!

Thanks again for getting things going Rich.

Great Disney and Universal pix. We've been down there many times over the years and they do have a lot of train related attractions. Throw in our trips on the Auto-train and it's almost a perfect train guy's vacation. Someone had posted some videos of the Monorail/ train shops a while back, probably can be found on Youtube. I never saw trains running on the Epcot G layout either. The Harry Potter train ride at Universal was cool too.

This week the RSJ&B is debuting the latest acquisition- a K-line MP-15 in the GM/ EMD demonstrator scheme. The engine looks brand new but it doesn't run . Gotta send it to the shops for service.

History of the MP-15 here (courtesy Wikipedia)

Rich- I rewire all my K-line diesels in series. Slows them down to a much more realistic speed.

Just arrived and unboxed - my new New Haven RS3 switcher.20180714_133749

Your water came out great! What did you use and how deep is that pour?

Thanks! I started off with a layer of the Deep Pour from Woodland Scenics. That was about 1/2" or so and then I layered on the Realistic Water from Woodland Scenics until I was happy with it. Total depth is about an inch. I used the murky tint on both layers. My yard (and canal) is meant to represent the Stamford, CT yard. I imagine that when it was active the color of the water was much darker as I've represented in my model. I don't have any pictures of it from olden days but I just imagine it was much murkier than it is today.
