TIU firmware Upgrade Path

I recently bought a revision G TIU for next to nothing. I got it home and tested it out and everything seems to work okay on it.

Now it is time to update the firmware. When I used my remote(s) to check the firmware code, it doesn't give any info ("TIU CODE VERSION = "). Is it possible that the firmware on the TIU is so old that my remotes (with version 5.00) are unable to detect the TIU version?

Do I need to install an intermediate version of the TIU firmware before going all the way to 5.00?

Just update both the remote and the TIU directly to DCS 5.0 using Loader Program 5.0.

After each device is updated, perform a reset of each. For the TIU do a Factory Reset rather than a Feature Reset.

That TIU must have been on a really old version, it was the first time I have heard a the track signal test make the engine beep very loud during the test.

That TIU must have been on a really old version, it was the first time I have heard a the track signal test make the engine beep very loud during the test.

The software in that TIU may have been as old as v version 2.1, the original DCS release. The track signal test was silenced in, I believe, DCS 3.x.
