How about having a "top secret" subatomic research facility, on your layout; maybe, a cyclotron(an oscillating field accelerator) smashing away at atoms...

The barbwire and "top secret" signage, alone, would look quite cool. Frosted windows with strange sounds emanating from within; complete, with eerie lighting and shadows... that might might look nice? An over-the-hill O scale track-side worker, strapped onto a stainless gurney, receiving a life changing subatomic particle shower, from the resident research fiend might work, too?

There's a lot of "top secrets" that might look good, in your 1/48th world.

Jim, that is a great scene. I do have to point out though that your alien doesn't quite match the prototype based on the ones I've seen. First off the color is not quite correct, it appears to be quite a few scale inchs too tall, and the hands and feet are not the the proper shape. I'd post pictures but I got to run there is a black helicopter landing in my yard.i

Last month I sent a team over to tell them that - but, they never returned.

Anyway, with those inaccuracies, I better not post the photo on the 3 rail scale forum!

Did any of you diabolical freaks ever see that 73 flick - O Lucky Man; some good looking gene splicing done, there.

M.,

we have a quaint little joint called Triumph, here; if we only knew...

I'm thinking some of the really freaky operations... hide it, right under our eyes.

BTW, O scale figures might look decent, in some kind of see-through container, suspended in clear silicone.
