I was working under the layout yesterday on a rainy day wiring a new water tower. A horn blew in the driveway and I scurried down the stairs to see the UPS truck parked next to the barn. This is unusual as the Brown truck guy normally drives up to the house. Out of the truck steps a lovely lady and asked if I live here (the barn). I said no, it is for our train layout. She stopped in her tracks and said "trains, my 10 year old son loves trains". She went on to say, "where would you like this box?". It was a big one containing the new Harry Heike large version of the GCT base and I said if you will let me help you with this box and take it upstairs, I will show you our layout. She said of course, "I will take it upstairs for you, no problem".
When she got to the top of the stairs, it just blew her mind. She had a wonderful time taking photos and watching the trains run. She asked if she could bring her son to see the layout and I said of course. We are having train friends over on the 11th so we have 3 new guests that day. She also asked if I had a UPS truck on the layout and I said no. Her comment was I will in another week.
What a wonderful representative of UPS. Polite, helpful, and someone who also loves trains.
Spence, you have company being a great ambassador for UPS.
