using sc2 with lcs

do you have to use sc2 with the lcs logo on them or can i use the older sc2

I haven't seen the SC-2s with the LCS logo, but I can tell you this much: SC-2s produced before 2013 will not work 100% reliably with LCS wi-fi. Originally, at least, Lionel identified the modified SC-2s, which they began to produce in 2013, by putting the PROG/RUN words in green rather than white. The modified SC-2s work with 100% reliability with LCS wi-fi.
