* This Video #830 shows 5 (FIVE) N-ga. Bachmann Peter Witt DCC Streetcars operating on the same loop -- using no turnouts, no blocks, and 2 Z-Stuff infrared detectors.

An NCE DCC "Mini-Panel" is automatically controlling them.

Although this video uses N gauge, as you probably know, this will work also in HO, S, O, or Largescale -- since it's "standard" DCC.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
* HOW IT WORKS:
The NCE Mini-Panel (Programmable Train Controller) uses a Z-Stuff infrared detector as a reference point, and uses "time delay" from the moment a streetcar passes the detector, to stop each of the 5 streetcars at the correct stopping point on the track.
The "Control Logic" is very SIMPLE:
* We run 1 streetcar at a time.
* We run the 1st streetcar past the detector, and then stop it.
* We then keep repeating the process for each additional streetcar -- stopping each streetcar behind the previous streetcar.
* When all streetcars have been run past the 1st detector, we then repeat the whole process for the 2nd detector.
  • This Video 831 is a continuation of the previous streetcar Video 830 posted above, back in Jan. 2021 -- where we used TWO infrared detectors to run 5 streetcars on the same mainline with NO blocks (controlled by an NCE DCC "Mini-Panel").
Differences From Previous Video 830:
  • This video is similar to the previous Video 830 -- except here we're now operating SIX (6) cars instead of 5, using a longer track, using SPST toggle switches on the control panel to easier select which combination of cars to run, and using lower-height detectors -- so we no longer need a notecard on top of the car to activate the detector.
Works For ALL Scales:
  • Note although this is shown with N-scale, it will work for ANY OTHER SCALE: HO, S, O, and G -- since the control system is the NON-PROPRIETARY DCC used by almost EVERY train manufacturer in the world.
Running 3 Cars With a Single Detector:
  • In Demo 4 that starts at the 7:09 point in the video ( https://youtu.be/In2GU4n7-dQ?t=429 ), we demonstrate an alternate method of controlling the cars -- where we used just ONE detector, and can control up to 3 cars.
