 Hello everyone,

I watched Eric's review this morning, right after that i had to go down to the layout room and run mine.

The play value is amazing with this set. In my opinion Lionel hit a Grand slam with the VL Big Boy, Aux tender, and the VL reefers with sound!!!!!!!!

    Enjoy,

Alex

Hi Alex, that is the nicest set I ever have seen I love that engine with the flag water tender along with the 9 cars I don't think I would run anything else but that all the time, layout looks great you build the best buildings can't wait to see them slowly popping up over time, Joe

Thanks everyone for the great comments!!!!!

Dave, this set will be running the day of the open house.

Don, so true !!

Joe, thanks.

Redball, there's 6 MTH reefers and three Lionel VL reefers in this set. Only one VL reefer has the sound.

WB47, I'm not sure if the squeal sound can be shut off, I have to read the manual and see. I know the first run i did there was no squeal, the second run it had the squeal and it did it on straights and curves,

Thanks again to all,

Alex

Wow, lionel messed up the flag on the Jim Adams car. It is suppose to be flying stars to stripes for/aft on both sides of the car. Also the high pitch squeal sound in the video is the brake. Sounds like the brake was left on slightly which accounts for the mind numbing squealing. The cars do not produce that racket with the brake off. The volume on the cars can be turned up and down and off. There are six sound levels I believe. They are accessed in the trainlink. There are also on command sounds, what sounds like a bump and a screech A and B respectively that turn the sounds on and below them a button to turn the individual sounds off. So yes you can have only bumps or only squeals. These things are way better than most people know how to use them. They actually act with the train for braking sounds and really bring out the wheel slip of the big boy. Play with them more... They are insanely awesome. I'm sure Eric will explain all this for those of you who cannot make sense of this post. I ran them today with my AC-12 Even on other legacy trains they are unbelievable. I have two sets and they work really well together. It is definately not too much like this video. Their are even two load and two unload dialogues so you can play both unloads or loads together on the cars and each car can be identified individually. Blown away. Love the flat tire sound that is controllable as well. BFIMO that brake... As long as it is not left on. You will however have to control engine labor through the EFX keys In lieu of the brake slider.
