Old "version" Roaring Camp Railroad when I was there many years ago. It has now been painted "to match the Lionel version" in the new 2019 catalogue"! Note the ride before "someone" burned down this beautiful trestle. They use a switch back now as it was too costly to replace it. Great experience if you ever have the opportunity to see and ride.

“Work on the layout is being put on hold, as my wife informed me she may want this room for a kids playroom. Not really sure where that puts me lol.”
All I know is that if my playroom when I was a kid had a toy train layout in it, I never would have left! :-)
Cheers!

Great pictures everyone. This past Wednesday, I brought my Shay to the club. I haven't run it in a while, I've got to run it more often. I really love this train. The video adds some stills of my Heisler. I can't seem to fine any pictures of my Climax. I guess I'll have to bring that back down to the club.

very nice Pat great looking trains, nice video !
Making progress on a part of the layout I’ve ignored for too long. The first picture is a retaining wall next to the main line. After that, I put down some basic ground cover. The rest of the pictures are of the Jericho Turnpike underpass in Mineola, Long Island, NY. For the street supports, I made a template out of oak tag, then transferred the shape to some scrap 3/4” plywood. After cutting and a little sanding, I screwed the curved road supports to the benchwork. I spray painted some 1/8” hardboard (Masonite) flat gray. I’ll follow up on the road with some weathering powders. I cut the walls out of the same thickness hardboard, and after priming with the gray, I sprayed on some Rust-Oleum Desert Bisque. For the folks that are familiar with the area I’m modeling, this is the underpass on Jericho Turnpike in Mineola. For those not familiar, this is a four lane road, and one of the main thoroughfares in the village of Mineola which passes under the Oyster Bay branch line that I’m modeling. The underpass is in progress, so more pictures to follow. Thanks for looking.

Santa Fe used to run 90-100 mph on its transcon line. They weren't shy about running fast.
Some pictures from the Amherst Model Railway show at the Big E expo in West Springfield, MA. Day 1 is done. Going back tomorrow.
Only purchased these two Lionel cars. I noticed that MPC prices are more expensive compared to York.
My son just got into N scale. That's where the money was spent.

That's the exact reason I sold off my 100+ train collection. I'm happy now with just my 2 tin-plate sets.

Walt, just two sets? That took some discipline! My wife is after to me to clean out the basement; i.e. run the trains or sell them. I haven't had much energy lately to do either.
I’ve been working on scenery along the right of way of the NYC Southern Division.
Foliage has been laid along the right of way in preparation for ballast work. Ground cover has been added. The bench work will be expanded by 4” in order to add a road that will run from the passenger station to a freight house located the right corner of the layout. Wood planks have been placed between the rails to form the platform in front of the passenger station.
Here are a few pictures.
Thanks for looking at the pictures.
Have a great week!
