Rich - Thanks for your kind words.  I would never have been able to get this far, without a lot of trial and error short of your advice. 

Here's why I hid the station behind the trains, as you can see I'm not quite finished, not to mention any detailing I might do.

I particularly like this second shot and the way you built the bridge and supports. Very clever and it looks great.

I am an old car hobbyist as well as a railfan. I have many friends in both hobbies and you would be surprised how many car buffs are also train buffs and vice versa.
I would like to see as a regular feature or as a continuing or recurring thread, one that discusses 1/43 and other “O” scale motor vehicles.

I can ID the FM Hudson and Buby Packard, but not sure of the red one. Is is a Brooklin Studebaker?

I put together this 85 foot Chimney for my background flats,  I will put a red LED in the top tonight.  It was a free download at Clever Models,  I used black Foam core and spray glued the card stock to the foam core.

Alex, it is funny that you posted your FEF.  I was thinking about it this morning as I drove past Trains and Lanes.  It looks great!  One of my favorite locomotives.

Today's project was starting the scenery on the new portion of the layout. Here a concrete bridge crosses a soon to be river. The tracks above lead to the tunnel.

I spent the day today running trains and talking to people and yesterday helping set up the Tinplate Trackers modular layout with the TTOS-Southern Pacific Division club at  the Great Train Expo show at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA. We got a little carried away with some of the new scenes on the layout.....hey, Tom and I got bored and after hooking up some powered Lionel accessories to show the public the fun we have, so we had to do something .

I really like the different color bands on the trestles in the above picture. Cool idea. 

High water marks perhaps?

Good stuff everyone!  Finally took some pictures of the Christmas layout this morning.

This year I ran a 260E with 700 series passenger cars.

My Christmas gifts from my niece Kayleigh.  Lionel Pennsylvania boxcar 9476 and a 12 pack of Yuengling.  She knows me so well...   I am consuming the final can as I post this.
