That beautiful B&O passenger train is fantastic!

 

To create a space between the photos, go to 'edit' and just click at the lower right of each one and hit 'enter'.

It should jump a line creating the space.

About half my switches are controlled by Atlas 6924's, which also drive my LED control panel indicators. The other half are controlled by SPDT(mom) toggles, and I needed something to drive the indicator LEDs. These low-force (9 grams) microswitches from Cherry (E61-60H) worked out just fine, with a cover formed from construction paper.

G&O News - The G&O is a garden railroad in San Leandro, CA (SF Bay Area) that has both O 3-rail and G gauge.  The G&O will be open for its holiday show this weekend.  See SLHRS.org for details.

 

As I reported last week, we had a forrest fire on Thunder Mountain that destroyed the Thunder Mountain Lodge.  The lodge was a favorite place for rail fans.  The O gauge mainline is directly in front of the lodge.

 

Here are some more photos of the fire and firefighting effort.

 

The fire truck and and fire fighting helo have arrived.  You can see the O gauge mainline in the lower right corner of the photo.

The smoke is really come out of the lodge.  It looks like a total loss.

Searching through my pictures.  My wife has spent some time over the years with these milk cans, (10 gallon), that were left un-used on my parent's farm after bulk milk service became the norm.  It currently sets at the front door as a umbrella rack. The lid is missing in this picture. Most of the cans were galvanized steel, there were a few that were stainless steel.  We would haul them in a pick-up truck to the local creamery every morning. Eventually we seperated the milk (cream and skim) on Sunday when the Creamery was closed. Shipped the cream on Monday and used the skim milk to feed the calves, hogs and us.   Picture is of a Pennsy K4.

Wow Rick, that is golden! I heard they had arrived from a friend. I actually got stalled on buying these for two reasons. I ordered several Lionel O gauge ones....and......I could not decide which to get in G scale! That one is very nice.

 I wonder if I'll be able to add KDs like the rest? The USA's are too low for my RR.

Enginear-Joe, The car includes an adapter to mount couplers to the body if you like.  Don't know about the shank length on the coupler though.  

 

They are able to negotiate a 10 foot diameter.

 

I'd order more if they weren't so expensive.  Mine will probably sit on the shelf for now.  Speaking of which,  I'll have to raise whatever shelf I decide to put it on, They are all too low.

My new SD-40 dummy trails SD-40 #8585 on its first run around the layout after acquisition. My wife bought me the #1552 BN freight set in 1990; we lived near the BN triple-track and I was and am a big fan. I finally got around to acquiring the dummy, from a forum member. The double-motored #8585 is pulling the dummy, the 5 BN scale set cars, 5 6464's and 10 other PW boxcars and MPC reefers, plus the set caboose. It doesn't even break a sweat!
