Yes, I know it is too early to start WEEKEND PHOTO FUN; however I have to be in Columbia, SC tomorrow morning at 9:00AM. So it is now rather than setting my clock and getting up an additional 30 minutes early, I'll start now.
Here are some pictures from the club this week.
After much searching I have been able to find 3 N&W 200 series coal hoppers.
It's no secret that I like the N&W, also running Tuesday was the N&W 263E.

This past weekend the National Capital Trackers put on a nice modular show at the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Washington, D.C.
On the way in I snapped a few pics of military equipment on the grounds, and took a movie of my military train. At the show, I met several Veterans and heard some great stories. One man, Harry, commented that he really liked my MTH Premier Sherman tank on a flatcar, said it was a nice model. I let him hold it. I asked him “did you spend time in a Sherman?” I wasn’t sure as he looked too young. He said yes, he was a driver and a loader, he enlisted in 1944 at 15 years old, lied about his age, he participated in The Battle of the Bulge, then went on to serve in Korea, and Vietnam. He is 91, but looked 71. It was great hearing first hand WW2 experiences right from the horses mouth. It was also great meeting so many other really great people. They were very appreciative that we were there, and the AFRH was very hospitable, had a great lunch from their cafeteria, and some great punch. They even played some swing music when the trains were running. Great weekend.

Any one else disappointed with this Williams hand car, pumpers more like G scale , O scale guy in the middle for comparison. James

Bill, seeing that IC switcher makes me SOOOOO regret selling off my entire collection. I had the engine and ALL of the matching cars too, including the bobber caboose. Beautiful train for sure.

Every week I go to the food store and almost always see Archie Fagan. He is a WWII vet who was a replacement. Whenever I see Archie we chat for a bit and he'll direct me to whatever is on sale. If you google him(or check YouTube) you'll find some interesting stories about his experiences in WWII. Its definitely worth it.
I do remember a few summers ago he was talking to another customer and I stopped to listen(and wanted to get directed to some good deals as well). He's lived a very lucky life, and is one hell of a gentleman.
We all notice different details that we want to model on our model railroads. I am trying to add some detailing to my tracksides. Every RR signal, crossing gate or signal, and anything electrical has an electrical cabinet nearby
Here are a couple pictures on the modern style electrical cabinets that you see along side most RR's today.
They are all pretty much alike and appear to be of a modular design. A good friend has a 3D printer and offered to make me some if I sent him good pictures and measurements. The next couple pictures are of one that he made me installed on my layout.
He is also making me propane tanks for various locations.

Chipping away at my small amusement/circus shelf.
After our little girl was born last year I had to downsize my layout. This is something to unwind after work. Still big enough to run my Legacy Polar. Ignore the mess while we remodel
The other photo is from work. This the Honolulu Rapid Transit driverless vehicle. I designed the the onboard ATC system. This is a photo from our first day of full driverless testing.
Not much layout progress, or really much train time this week. Did get some work done on a sort of back drop like area. Made a coffee stirrer fence, glued up some flats, did some balast. Tough tight space to work in, kinda aggravating to be honest. 😂

Having only a Christmas layout makes it hard for see to accept spending $300 and up on one building that's only going to see the light of day for 2 months!
Plus, I have 6 complete scenes that I rotate from year to year and adding a 7th, well, I'm not ready for that either.
BUT... I envy those, like yourself, that have the stuff!!! Keep showing them so I can continue to drool

don't hear enough from you Ryan! Congrats on your daughter.
I to this day still remember you helping me prove that your Blue Comet could handle O27 curves and swithes. Know what I learned though? The tether allowed for it. My PS3 with a drawbar can't do them sadly enough.
