Thanks Chris, that's a great shot. It's a great switcher, and yes, it does put out the smoke. Merry Christmas!

David S, hope you were at the museum after we finally got the National Capital Trackers layout in full operation. Electrical short problems delayed some lines, but by mid-afternoon all was in order. Here's a few photos of some of the trains.

The Baldwin Centipedes. Thomas and my Lionel UP SD40-T, The Empire State Express #999, and GG1 4907.

Those are spectacular shots of the entire layout/room! Wish my phone did that too.

Here is an overview of the train room.

Santa is supposed to have an Albuquerque station in his pack for me and it will replace the Lionel #114 station you see in downtown Douglas, the main town on my layout.

And, guess what my next phone is going to be?

Note to all you folks with kids-trains-and-Christmas photos:

Consider sending them along to me at the magazine.  If I receive a sufficient variety of them, I may be able to put together a special photo feature for the 2013 December issue. It might make a fine keepsake for you and your family over the coming years.

Do keep in mind though:  I will need high resolution images (largest file size that your camera can produce).

My brother is visiting with his family. His 4 yr. old grandson fell in love with Legacy and with a little instruction was controlling two different locomotives at once.He could quill that whistle like a pro! We played trains for hours. He's bit with the "bug" for life!!
