While a lot of people seem to be worried about the Mayan end of the world, I think their time would be much better spent looking at pictures at Weekend Photo Fun.
Here are some picture from my church last week. My son and I set up trains around two Christmas trees.
I will try to post some more pictures later. My laptop went out for repair and that is making the transfer of pictures little dfficult. Let's see your pictures.

Here are some more shots of the Christmas display I mentioned last week open to the public. Many kids come by, they love the model trains and stay for a long time to watch them and to push the buttons on the table to blow the whistle and make the Santa figure and train work.
The CP Holiday trains toured the US and Canada. Here are some shots of the west bound train on its last day of the trip. Side of train opens, a large box car with steam blowing out the door as it lowers and the bands come out to play at each stop.
They gather food for the local food banks along the way.
Click on photos for a larger view. Top photo of the Holiday train is what you see in the distance. Several box cars a power car and 3 vintage buisness cars not in view at the rear. This would be fun to model.

Electricians have now completed placing the transformer and extending the four-aught conductors[0000ga.] for the new 3-phase w/neutral power grid reaching from the coal-fired Powerhouse over to the production area of the Denim Mill. Production can now resume after Christmas holidays.

On this last Friday before Christmas, just wanted to honor Catoctin Mountain Trains & Hobbies in Thurmont, MD ..... one of the best, if not THE best O-gauge train shop out there. The painting is of the shop. It was commissioned for the shop's Christmas card a few years ago. Hopefully all train shops saw a lot of business throughout this holiday season.
Some of you may already know this; The descendants of the Mayan civilizations are with us today. They are the ones that make up the shipping schedules for the train manufacturers.

This is for Scott (NKP4me). After you and your dad had stop by over thanksgiving weekend. One of the club memembers had took a liking to your dads 0-6-0 WL&E. Made a run to Patricks trains in wheeling WV. He had one. Ran it on my layout today. Beautiful switcher! ONE

IT'S ALIVE!!!
My brother's little prewar Lionel 1688 torpedo. We've been trying to troubleshoot a short in it for a few weeks now, so I finally decided to go ahead and rewire it. When I started digging in I noticed the E-Unit drum was not where it should have been. It was kind of sitting on an angle in the frame and was shorting. The nubs on the ends were worn down too much to stay in the holes of the frame. I had an old E-unit that was removed from my Grandfathers 2037 due to a bad solenoid, so I borrowed the drum from it. Replaced all the wiring with 22 gauge stranded wire (we are operators, otherwise I probably would have purchased the proper cloth covered replacement wire) and it is running beautifully now.

My wife bought an I Phone last spring while I just got a replacement plain Jane, just a phone phone. Occasionally I get to play with hers and after seeing an Apple commercial for its Panorama function, I had to see what it would do.
Here is an overview of the train room.
Santa is supposed to have an Albuquerque station in his pack for me and it will replace the Lionel #114 station you see in downtown Douglas, the main town on my layout.
And, guess what my next phone is going to be?

David S, hope you were at the museum after we finally got the National Capital Trackers layout in full operation. Electrical short problems delayed some lines, but by mid-afternoon all was in order. Here's a few photos of some of the trains.

Actually, I'm in the middle of writing an article for Alan. I got delayed with setting up the train room for Christmas. Now that the holiday is past, I can get back to that project. Stay tuned.
