Weekend Photo Fun Thanksgiving/Hanukkah/Black Friday Weekend 2013 Edition

Here is a couple of American Flyer diesels we once had. I believe this picture was taken around 1979.

Opened another box picked up from my most recent visit to my LHS CMT in Thurmont, MD. Double heading it with another piece I really like.

Great photos to start the weekend!  I spent a better part of my day switching body shells on two 3rd Rail FL9s.  Long story .. don't ask.  A bigger project than I anticipated.  

 

 

In the meantime, I snapped a few photos of the slowly becoming less than temporary modular layout in the middle of my train room and a few shots of the soon to be removed layout along the edge of the wall in anticipation of my new layout ... someday.

No. 425's spoked pilot wheels have been replaced with solid wheels. All 4 wheels are black, not blue. Hmmm  .  .  .

Nice to be home when the weekday AVR train runs up to the B&P interchange, so my son and I chased.

 

Here's AVR 4002 on the crossing in Evans City, PA with 66 cars headed back to Glenwood yard.

It's not the church members I am worried about. It's all the other people passing through during the week. AA Meetings, Outreach programs, Daycare, food vendors for our coffee shop, to name a few.  The Christmas trees are upfront and all the offices are in the back of the building, so anyone could walk in off the street and no one would know.

Glad to see that the National tree will have the trains again.  It is a highlight of every year to check them out, along with the Nativity on the lawn as well.  Another good train spot is the US Botanic Garden.  They have a beautiful display every year that is free.  If you are in the DC area, it is a must see.
