My layout consists of two bricks that power the upper and lower layout. I use 3-wire house wiring to feed out from a central location to each of the isolated segments(hub and spoke). From there up to the track with feeder wires.  I also installed two wires to each sement driven by a DC power supply. This DC power will drive Arduinos and ESP32s around the layout controlling switch servos, LEDs, etc. Everything terminates on terminal blocks at the source and destination of each run. Its getting busy back at the hub and starting to look too much like a rats nest. The reason I went with 3-wire is because I had it on hand. I'm organizing a neater arrangement now and my question is this:  Can anyone think of a reason for me to keep the earth ground that accompanies the 3-wire? If not, I'll cut it off on both ends and get it out of my way. Thanks for your time.
