In their conversations with Lionel execs at the shows, any one know if this will be corrected?
It will decide if we save for one or not.
None of our guests have noticed swinging pilots or "short" handrails, but they do notice headlights in the wrong spot!!

The plastic body ES44AC tooling was for the NS Heritage units produced awhile back. Which do in fact have the headlights over the cab.
The ES44 tooling was before a sort of "modular" tooling that Lionel is using now with the GP30s and upcoming SD40s.
I can't speak to how easily it would be to modify the existing tooling but I wouldn't hold my breath that they'd be on the nose for those that do have it there.

Well, the Norfolk Southern ES44AC has it in the right spot. Not sure of any others however.
I suppose since the Santa Fe one is a fantasy scheme, you can make believe it is too 
We went 'round and 'round about this over the past year on the S Scale forum. End result, the headlights were still up on the cab per NS for all roadnames offered. Some guys didn't preorder for that reason, BTO or not.

In our travels we've seen BNSF, CN, CP, CSX, and others with the low headlights so it seems foolish to have tooled the engine with only NS headlights. Do any other roads have the low headlights? We have been amazed at the amount of kids who notice whether Annie and Clarabel are in the correct order behind Thomas and that the scale Polar Express lettering is incorrectly above the windows. Can't traumatize the children!
According to Lionel the ES44AC's will all have the NS head light placement On all models.
