Here's a little experience that I had about 6 months ago with a brass Weaver Dreyfuss Hudson:

After I upgraded it with ERR Cruise Commander, I noticed a noise (vibration) while

testing. Fearing a failing driveshaft or gear, I popped the top (removed the boiler), poked aroundfor a while, saw nothing breaking...but I noticed that the motor was "sagging" on its mount. Screws were tight; I cut some styrene ships, slipped them between the motor

and the face of the mount to get it in line with the shaft, and the vibration was gone. Glued the strips in place.

Remove the boiler (fear not), and see if your motor - or anything else - is coming adrift. Brass locos are usually pretty simple under the covers.

Check the bottom of your gearboxes for loose screws, also. The gearbox cover(s) often act as the retaining part.

D500 THANKS, I HAVE THE BOILER OFF FOR ROUTINE MAINTANANCE, AND I DO NOTICE A SIMILAR "SAG"  AT THE MOTOR, I WILL TRY THISOUT TONIGHT AND WILL LET YOU KNOW. CLIFFORDOriginally Posted by D500:
