I guess I should have know this but after purchasing a few Williams pieces I learned they do not have a switch that locks out the reversing mechanism.  That is a bit of a drawback for me since I like to use insulated rails to trigger trains to run from a hidden location. 

 

Can anyone provide a diagram of how to add a switch to the loco?

Not sure if this will help you, but on my older Williams F-7's I installed a 6 amp 50 volt bridge rectifier after removing the circuit board for direction. To wire a bridge rectifier is rather simple; run the two A.C. powered(from track) to the connections that have a ~ , then use the positive + to one motor wire and the negative - to the other motor wire. If it don't run the correct direction simply reverse the + & - wires.

 

Of course by doing this you lose all direction control, including nuetral, except for forward.

There are 2 different Mods to the Williams/WBB reverse unit. One Mod adds a lockout switch to lock the unit out in Forward Only( Not 100% sure if just forward or any position) The second Mod allows you to change the startup from forward to neutral first. Both Mods can be found on the Bachmann Web site. You might try a post on the WBB board to confirm the lockout switch. Hope this helps.

Williams locomotives start in Forward position by default.
