Some truth there, but a well-done layout is a nice break from rows of tables, and it's great to see big engines pulling long trains.  National Capital Trackers had an amazing setup a couple of Yorks ago.

Until you've done a modular layout, you have no idea how much effort is involved.  I've done it on a small scale, and always appreciate it when a group goes to the trouble to set up and operate.

Flower City or, FCTT Hi Railers, our new name, will be back in October. The final details are being worked out, but we're moving ahead with a 96 x 48 foot layout which will be in the White Hall. I'm looking at a demo this weekend for a computer lighting controller designed by one of our members son. I hope to have it installed and functioning on my 12'  street running module by then. See you in October!

GREAT and hope FCTT comes to fruition.

As Eddie stated, yes if you come to York to see layouts you will be disappointed, But it is a pleasant break from the endless rows of goods for sale.
