That's pretty much like I see it, too.  There's always going to be at least one bad apple in every barrel, but it's unfair to generalize the actions of one--or even a few--to the entire workforce of any of these agencies.

Our (OGR) FedEx delivery and pickup employees--and this was obviously a pickup--are first-rate, as are our UPS folks.  More than just reps for their respective agents, they are also our friends.

Never had any trouble with FedEx. I guess they both deserve hauling in front of the boss for a dressing down. Or handing their P45 (not sure of the US equivalent)

I thought Scott's better half threatened to use the BBQ last time!

I heard a unconfirmed rumour she has got in touch with FPS Russia for Scott's next York trip.

Indeed, and it's only going to get progressively worse with all the quadcopters, drones, etc. looking down from overhead and every smart phone equipped with still photo and video capability.  The day of Big Brother (not the TV show) is here, and you just have to assume that every time you step outside your home (and perhaps even within) you're going to be watched by someone.  Ya gotta love it!

Nothing irritates me more than when people are lazy at there job.  Let someone else do the work correctly.
For several years my UPS delivery man was excellent...but he retired.  That's when the worst delivery guy took over.  I had it out with him one day.  I was waiting for two locos to be delivered.  When I heard the truck pull up, I went to the door.  The truck's door was slid open and I see a box come flying to the front of the truck followed by a loud thud, then another, and another.  Two of the boxes were my locomotives.  I got POed with the guy.

Now I worked for UPS for several years while attending college.  I sweated my butt off, loading and unloading trucks, but never...not once threw someone's purchase several feet away.  I contacted UPS after the incident.  Result was within a week he wasn't delivering to my house any longer.  The gentleman delivering here currently is excellent.  Some folks just don't take pride in the job they have.

Please do not just copy and paste URL's here. Learn how to use the LINK TOOL.

Actually, guys, I make a specific point never to use a link re-label tool, etc. Relabeled links can be/are used to disguise some mildly nasty tricks/fraudulent sites, etc.  I'm honest and would not do anything like that but I figure what is good for the goose is good for the gander.  Of course, even apparently valid appearing web links can be a fraudulently relabeled link, but posting the actual link is sort of "full disclosure ahead of time" it tells folks where they are being re-directed to - something that makes me much, much more comfortable when I hit a link.

I agree that UPS and FedEx are much easier to file a claim with.  Several years ago, I got a new laptop from my employer at a meeting in DC.  I shipped the old one home via FedEx so I wouldn't have to lug it through airport security.  When it arrived, the screen was cracked.  I got an estimate to repair and the cost to replace, sent both in and FedEx said I could have the cost of the lesser of the two.  Pretty simple.

I have found FedEx ground to be less expensive that either USPS and UPS parcel in may cases by as much as 3-5 dollars compared to UPS and USPS parcel.  I see more damage from UPS than USPS and the least from FedEx.  All of them make mistakes but FedEx always (in my experience) make it right; it is known as the study of service recovery in operations management, which also flows to marketing.  None of them will ever attain 100% perfection.
