Got that RJ. When I switched from my 1033 to the ZW I just switched the transformer wires to change the U to outside.
I believe the "modern" Lionel bricks are wired so that a positive-going sinewave on the input line produces a negative-going sinewave at the outputs. Seems counterintuitive, but it is a flip of the coin situation. I think Lionel accidentally locked into this standard on the 135W bricks, and then got into trouble when the early 180W bricks were positive-in/positive-out. That's when they had to supply adapter plugs that reversed the secondary polarity until they switched their manufacturing to match the 135W bricks. Now we live with positive-in/negative-out.
