I've seen a couple of posts on various issues but none seem to be exactly on point.  I have a D post that will not go to zero when the handle is off - shows a small voltage remaining and the trains, of course, continue to operate.  I've seen posts about recalibrating on older ZW transformers but nothing similar on new.  Wondering if perhaps i have short of some kind?  Or is it the transformer?

I have 2 ZW-L that I phased.  ZW L 1:  A -  train  B - switches+several accessories  C - intended for lights D-train.  ZW L 2:  A - train B - isolated spur with operating track C - isolated spur with coal ramp  D- train.  If i reduce all handles to zero it doesn't fix it.  Have to turn the transformer off.  I do have 2 switches on ZW L C that are in the track powered by D.

I had this same issue on my recently purchased ZW-L. The voltage on throttle A would not decrease below about 10 volts. I had to return it to Lionel for a warranty repair which  took about a month. In my case, the problem began with a derailment. The transformer’s fold back protection and circuit breakers apparently did not work as intended resulting in an acrid, smoky meltdown.
