Hi Rich, I was able to post a picture the first time I tried. I did forget to scan down to the finished button the first time so I had to go back a try again, but it worked. I even put a short vedio up on the post.

I was one guy who was on the old site for about ten years and never found the time to do the 3rd party thing, this Hoopla site is so much nicer.

Thank You,

Mario E.

Thank you, Thank you Rich!!.  As they say one picture is worth a thousand words.  Couldn't be more simpler.  Sure beats the picture "mickey mousing" you had to do with the old forum.  I attempted it twice without sucess and just gave up, e-mailed the pictures and let someone else have all that fun.

Yep...a lotta metal all right. 404 tons worth! That's 808,000 pounds! Now picture it roaring down the main line at 70 mph, with a 5,000 ton freight train behind it. Oh baby!

Glad you could use my instructions.

You can post photos linked from elsewhere, but it's a bit cumbersome that way. Uploading them from your computer to here is the best way to do this.

If you mean the image in my original post here, that's a very good question. Somehow the link to the image got broken. I'll look into it.

If it's a matter of bandwidth I can start keeping it PC loadable only for here.

It's a piece of cake to post pictures from your computer or PhotoBucket.  For Photobucket, you just have to select the IMG copy and paste it in the message here.  Here's an example from my PB account.

Thanks GRJohn, I figured that the "img" method would work here. I have to upload my camera pics to the PC anyway before I ship them over to PB, so I can just save them in my file to use here too since the admin seems to prefer that way...when in rome...

One of the pics of the new bachmann shorty On30 boxcars I did for someone who wanted to see pics of it but didn't have one-

One of my current On30 diesel bashes-

That's the problem with PB, once you get a pic there ya can't get it back home to your PC.

Yeah, I right clicked "properties" on that pic and didn't see an "img or jpg..." after it...thought those were supposed to follow any pic? Alot of folks copy or paste pics and get the dreaded red x only because they left tidbits on the address or forgot something needed...not saying the admin did any of that! Worst one is someone moving a pic around in they're PB account and forgetting that this will cut all links to it...closed accounts will do that too. Its always best to organize one's remote hosting pic site before posting any links or you'll loose them for the masses to see. My PB site isn't as organized as I'd like-lol..oh well.

Still trying to find a face pic of me that's decent...all I've got is some wide view shots of me at last years pinewood derby race, I'm the cubmaster, or family shots.

It's not necessarily that I prefer it that way. If you upload directly here, there are options available to display your images that you don't have with linked photos hosted elsewhere. They can be displayed larger here and if you post several images, they will automatically present themselves as a slide show, if you choose to look at them that way. You can't do any of that with linked images.

Yeah...I know. That's embarrassing! The link to MY OWN picture was broken!

I fixed it.

Rich I am having trouble with click 3. After I select the picture I want to post I can not find an OPEN choice to click on. I am using Window XP SP3.

Thanks for your help.

Did you double click on the folder, click the pic you want and then double to open it...I don't think about it that much anymore, but if one click won't do it, give it a second....clicks are cheap- trains aren't!

Trainbug,

Check that you have add-ins enabled in Safari. Here's the Apple support link which describes how to do it.

That should resolve the problem.
