COW TOWN EXPRESS: The Cripple Creek & Western Cattle Car

Cripple Creek is a prosperous town with a variety of businesses, and one of the largest is the cattle trade. Business is so good, the railroad ordered a fleet of new stock cars!

The car’s frame measures 13-1/2 inches long. Plus, it has operating couplers and rides on die-cast metal trucks. The body has textured wooden styling with slats permitting airflow as well as four large open windows on each side.

The cattle car has weathered, add-on metal structural supports and doors with an operating metal latch. The doors carry signage for the Cripple Creek Cattle Company.

Cattle was once a major commodity riding the rails. If there is a cattle range on your railroad, the Cripple Creek Cattle Car is just what you need to move that cargo from the roads to the rails!

There are four add-on ladders on the ends and sides. A see-through metal catwalk runs the length of the roof. Both ends feature a standing brake wheel and shaft running down to the frame.
