Need a PDF file how to rewind armatures and field coils on Lionel Trains

I have used this as a guide. (see pics) It has nearly every field & armature documented and describes best practices, etc. Let me know which one you are working on. I can share the info with you.

Thanks can you tell me what size wire for a field coil for a no. 60 trolley and how many turns I need to make a picture to anything you have on a number 60 trolley be super helpful... thank you P.S. that book is hard to find

The one thing that isn't that in that book is the number 60 trolley. 🙄🤔

Does anybody know the armature for the number 60 trolley? is it matched or swappable into some other Lionel motor? is it like one of the 'scout' motors?

I have the 2nd book around somewhere, but I think that one is all accessories and equipment

I sent my 60 armature to the motor doctor.  He did a great job for a reasonable price, IMHO.

The field assembly for the 60 trolley is Lionel part number 50-42, the same part as the 50 gang car. It is a double  wound field coil.  This is how the car is reversed. The Service Manual pages on the 50 explain the double wound field well. There are two volumes of Bob Hannon’s book on post war motors, you may need both do all your motor work. They are available directly from him on his web site. He will rewind the field for you if you want to go that way.  I will see if the Lionel Engineering Standard has winding information on the 50 field.   If it does, I will post more later.   Bob’s book is copyrighted and copies of it should not be posted here.

The Engineering Standard does not give a specific number of turns, it just says use 10 layers of #28 wire, tapped at the 5th layer.   Bob Hannon’s book would give you more specific information. See photos below.
