CoastsideKevin, You know, I am sure, that he is going to remember those moments forever. The special lights. The trains zipping by. The layout full of adventures. And you with him.

Forever. He will never forget the magic, there, with you.

One of the best things I have done is get the trains out of boxes after 35 years and start building this little empire. It has been a lot of work, but so rewarding to share with my kids. Life is good!

I went to chase trains on the main line at Tenino, WA and right away caught a train on the PS&P line (with a GP-9, but going a direction I’d never get ahead of it, so I let it go). After about 20 minutes waiting in Tenino on the main line, I saw a southbound Amtrak, and a Northbound Freight just a couple of minutes later (I missed seeing a ‘running meet’ with two moving trains passing each other, but about a mile). Then, I decided to head south to Bucoda, didn't get but just a couple miles to the next grade crossing and I saw the flashers come on. So, I immediately spun around and paced the train as the road is parallel north of that spot, and caught a running meet of another train going the opposite direction (I was surprised by that as I was focused on the road, holding the camera pointing out the open window, clicking away randomly). I followed the Northbound up to where the road diverges, then turned around and looked at my photos that I had taken while pacing. Then, I headed south again with the original intent of catching something south of there, and the exact same thing happened again. I hit that grade crossing, saw the flashers come on, and I spun around and paced another Northbound through the exact same spot, less than 15 minutes after the first one. They backed up a train in each block at this point, it seemed. So, I turned back around, and the lights were green Northbound yet again and trains kept coming after I ran out of light. As I was leaving I caught another one heading south, just before the light was gone. More than 7 trains in less than two hours.
