Any police that model o gauge trains?

Last time I was at Engine House Hobbies a few weeks ago, I pulled in and there were a few Montgomery County Police officers inside with cars in the parking lot. Coming in, I tossed out some chain-jerking comment to Ken the owner, asking if he got caught for something he didn't do or something like that . (It is sort of a rule that if you visit or shop at Engine House Hobbies, you must jerk the chains of Ken and Louie as well as the regulars). Turns out the officers were into G Gauge and stopped in on break. Fun guys. 

I model O gauge.  Have over 32 years in law enforcement.  Getting ready to retire in June of 2014, after my son graduates from UCLA.  Matt

I was in LE for 10 years myself.

Currently working... but the light at the end of the tunnel is getting larger (for retirement) started back into the hobby about 10 years ago... very good way for me to un -- stress myself... and sometimes ADD to my stress level ! LOL 

I believe that you'll find there are a good number of law enforcement folks--active as well as retired--on this forum.  Ditto for first responders such as firefighters, paramedics, etc.

This hobby is, and long has been, a great stress reliever.  Just ask your primary care physician about good ways to relieve stress, and engaging in a hobby will be at or near the top of the list.

One of our "finest" Forum members, Marty Fitzhenry retired from this very honorable profession.

Retired after 35 yrs as an officer.  Family background as officers,Dad, younger Brother & two cousins.  Myself and Brother have been into trains one scale or the other since childhood

I retired after 30 years in law enforcement. Just getting ready to build my layout.

I would think police officers are prime for this hobby because they spend so much of their working hours watching what is going on around town.

I think we can all agree that a train, or better yet a switch yard can be a real eye catcher, therefore imaginations are sure to fly.

Just my opinion.

My buddy is a retired Detroit police officer and very into American Flyer.

First Bldg that I added to the layout was the Dept 56 Police Station with the attached Doughnut Shop. Seemed appropriate!

A couple of Sergeants here at the LA County Emergency Ops Center and one retired one who works Cal Stewart every year are model railroaders. Don, now retired, is seriously into O gauge. The other two are into G Gauge (trying to find time to get the layout built). I almost got them to switch when they saw the Third Rail H1 Northern.

Been on the job in NC for 13 years! Trains are a great escape from the pressures of law enforcement.
