Don't know what happened to him, I do miss his posts, been a long time now!

About a year ago his house burned down from an electrical fire. I think he lost his trains.

If true, he has my sympathy because I went through that unhappy event. Took two years to get back to almost normal.

That's what I seem to remember. He probably has other priorities right now. I tried sending him an email yesterday.
I had a garage fire in '07. lost my car and one of my Uncle's, plus 25+ years of tools and parts. really a kick in the gut. I can't imagine loosing a home.
I remember that. I hope he's okay.
I very much regret to say, I am finding different sources of information which indicate that Bruce Duensing (aka Electroliner) is deceased.
The information below all seems to point to the same person. Also photos of him. Please correct me if I am in error about this.

He has a Facebook page which indicated his interest in Paranormal.

I am really sorry to hear this. Bruce was a genuine character and I enjoyed his point of view. He certainly had a run of difficult times in the last year. I know that from time to time he would get quite irritated about the forum, and when I thought about him recently I honestly thought he was just taking another of his protracted breaks from it.
I have one of Bruce's trains, a Hafner freight set with a Hafner locomotive that he retrofitted with a Marx electric motor. A true Electroliner original.

He was a nice guy - I remember his posts. It is a shame that some people drop off OGR forum and you don't realize it for a while. There are some people now that I recall reading that I haven't see in a while. You wonder where they went.
I'm sorry to hear that. I haven't been here very long, but appreciated Bruce's posts and enjoyment of his hobby.

Bruce was a kindred spirit... we both enjoyed windup trains and Marx in particular, and his railroad (as can be seen in his YouTube videos) had a lot of character and charm. Very sorry to hear of his passing - he will certainly be missed.
This is very sad. I'm sorry to hear this news. My sincerest condolences to his friends and family. I enjoyed his posts on this forum and I really felt bad for him when he lost everything in the fire.

Thanks for all the ww2, and later stuff, you guys have guts, when you look back how young the pilots were, my dad trained in a B24, but to many pilots , so he went into the repair side, but then the war ended, his friend he met at work was a B24 pilot, never saw him, yell, always calm, soft spoken , in a cock pit, you need to keep your head,,calm and cool,,,
He fought in WW2? Interesting. I wonder if he ever knew my Great Uncle (He fought in a Sherman tank) Quite a respectable member of the model railroad community. Based on what I see in his previous posts concerning his house fire, I can see he was a genuine family man. Indeed, Bruce will be missed.

I host a thread on CTT and I always suspected that he was posting to that thread with a different name. The photos that he posted here looked very similar to some that have been posted there.

Wow. This news has really hit me, in a bad way. I always enjoyed his posts, we grew up in the same part of the country, were more or less the same age, and had similar interests, in trains and other things. I felt badly when he posted that his home had burned and that he had lost everything. Loss of a home to fire almost ranks with loss of a loved one (or so friends have told me over the years). I wish that I had had a chance to meet him personally; I'm sure we would have gotten on well.
Most heartfelt belated condolences to his family, and may he "rest in peace".
Being very new here, I don't know who this Gentleman was, but I would like to offer my sincerest and most heartfelt condolences.
Judging from the tributes I've read here, he sounds like someone I would be lucky to call Friend.
I also had wondered recently as to Electroliner's whereabouts. I shall miss his posts and videos of his layouts. He showed an uncommon depth of kindness and intellectual curiosity in his contributions to this forum. I always looked forward to his replies because I would usually learn something new that would help me in my own railroading situations.
He was really one of the "Good Guys" on here and he will be missed. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends as well....

Man this is sad news, we will all miss him very badly, a real good member here on the OGR, I talked to him often, and was hoping this was not the case. May God our Supreme Architect hold him in the Palm of his great hands, and give him piece ever lasting.
Another good man now runs Trains on the Supreme Architects great layout.

Sad news indeed; Electroliner was, without knowing it, the good guy that directed my attention to the OGR forum. He posted some links to my Marx in the garden video's here and when I saw on youtube the extra interest I found out about the OGR forum. I had a look and became a 'member'; without him OGR forum is not the same anymore.

That's what I thought. Thanks for confirming it James. I checked over there after posting here and went back and traced his posts. I found the last date he posted there and a few other pieces of data and concluded that he was also Wallyworld. Now I feel doubly sad. Its as if I lost a friend and fellow collector on each site.

Just noticed this and it is sad to hear.
One of things that I like about message boards requiring photos recently is that it leads to a more personable identifying with a person because you can see their face. When it’s just a username, it doesn’t have that personal touch. In some instances, one may make friends through the forum and keep in touch that way, so that if one is ill or has passed on, they are remembered by others. This forum is like a close knit family.
Electroliner’s passing It made me think of all the message boards that I’ve been on over the past 20 years, many of which I no longer frequent and I haven’t logged on in years due to shifting interests, etc. When one disappears like that, no one never knows what happened to the person (death, moved on to other things, etc.). Makes one wonder how many non-active accounts there are out there on message boards in internet land.

I also notice Spence has not been on in a while. Hopefully he's just migrated to another forum.
I am sorry to learn of Electroliner's passing.
Steve, Spence is alive and well wintering in Hawai'i. He is posting now and then on another forum, but his layout has to wait until he returns home.
I was going to say I thought Spence had mentioned wintering in Hawaii.

I quickly made an account when I stumbled on this site. My father, Bruce Duensing, passed away last year shortly after our home fire. He and I dug through the rumble and saved almost 80% of his trains! I just wanted to reach out and let his friends who weren't aware, know.

Kara, I enjoyed many of your father's posts over the years and was pretty sad to hear of his passing. I hope you have lots of good memories to remember him with and that you can hold on to at least some of his trains. His friends here on this forum still miss him.
