Can TIU variable channels be used as Z4k channels?

I have a Z4000 and a Z4000 receiver plugged into it. Can I use the variable channel as Z4k track?

Yes, you can.

All that you need to do is put the variable channel in Fixed Mode and move the Fixed #2 channel inputs and outputs to the Variable channel's inputs and outputs.

Put the variable channel into fixed mode as follows:

• Press Menu/System/DCS Setup
• Select the TIU (if there's more than one)
  • Select the variable channel
• Press the FXD soft key once or twice until the message that the channel is in Fixed Mode is displayed.

Whats the procedure for powering up the tracks with the

remote to run the layout? I am NOT able to do this right now.

If the channels are in fixed mode, they'll come up in a pass-thru mode, so whatever is on the input will be on the output minus a small voltage drop through the variable channel.  So, the "procedure" is turn the power on.
