My CC 726 Berk was delivered to my LHS as a set-breakup item from his distributor without the tender. This oversight has been corrected and the tender is on its way as I type this. In the meantime, I have run the engine by itself after adding about 8-10 drops of smoke fluid (JT's NADA).
Without a tender or train to pull, I could only run the engine safely at about 10 volts, and the only way I could get it to smoke was to put the e-unit in "neutral" and raise the track voltage to about 18 volts. Then running it forward or backward would elicit a decent output for a few seconds.
My question is does this smoke unit require a continuous higher voltage (16-18) to smoke properly, such as while pulling its tender and a train of several cars? Also does it have a mechanical puffing device or a fan?
