I  am old enough to remember the real thing in 1950, and was at Railfair '81 at Sacramento, before the change to non-chromium yellow.  If the photos above really represent the orange that is now on 4449, the newer colors may have missed.

I know I am repeating myself, but some WWII colors - AN Yellow and AN Orange - can no longer be exactly duplicated.  Gives antique aircraft buffs real headaches.

Christopher is correct - do it the way that makes you happy.  But when Hot says he actually compared his Sunset model, you can probably assume he has actually done so.  Alternate facts don't hold up very well when one can easily conduct Hot's experiment.  I bet there are a dozen Portlanders who can do the same experiment with GGD cars.

I took these photos of 4449 five days ago (August 28, 2019) in the Portland, OR area.  I was attending the National Garden Railway Convention.  The convention charted 4449 to pull a short train.  Note how the daylight color varies when viewed in the shade versus the sun.  This is especially noticeable on the tender's side.  NH Joe
