DCS Explorer with Legacy on same layout, loop?

Can you use a MTH DCS Explorer in conjunction with Legacy?  That is, wired such that you can run a Legacy engine and a PS2/3 engine on the same loop at the same time?  

There are absolutely no issues when doing so.

Thanks Barry.  So in order for the Explorer to have effect on all three of my TPC400 powered Legacy shared or common base-rail connected loops would I just 3-way splitter the hot rail output of the Explorer and connect one of those three leads to each loop's variable voltage line and connect the Base output of the Explorer anywhere to the base rail shared by all three loops?  Thanks.  Or is it one Explorer per loop?  

If I understand it correctly, the Explorer is powered by the wall-wart that comes with it and uses that power to generate a signal carried by whatever voltage to the tracks is getting put there by the power source of your choosing.  Correct?  So the Explorer is a signal or command source, not the voltage or power source that drives your engine(s).  It just tells the engine how much of that voltage/power to use (e.g. how fast to go) or for what purpose (e.g. make a sound, open a coupler, etc.)

Unfortunately for your purposes, that is incorrect.

Although the DCS Explorer can provide a DCS signal to all 3 of your loops, and successfully interoperate with your TMCC and Legacy engines, its power input goes through to the tracks. It cannot be wired in passive mode.

Further, the maximum draw for all 3 loops through the DCS Explorer would be limited to a total of 6 amps.
