We had a wonderful evening last night at the Detroit Historical Museum.  D3R Member Mark (SPIKE here on OGR) arranged a joint meet with the Glancy Modular Club at the Detroit Historical Museum.  In addition to running trains on the modular layout, we also enjoyed the newly restored Glancy Trains exibit and the rest of this wonderful museum.  A big thank you goes to Mark for making last evening happen.

The Glancy Modular layout can be setup much larger than what we assembled for the gathering on Saturday.  I have been involved with setups as large as 48 by 56.  Larger would be possible.  The layout utilizes Lionel Legacy control with TPC 400's.  If someone cares to run MTH we handle it conventionally using the TPC's.  Each main line has twin 180 watt Lionel bricks for power.

The Glancy Modular Railroad Club operates the modular layout.  I just happen to belong to both the Glancy club and D3R as well.

John, I'm not certain what survives from the original Alfred Glancy collection.  Perhaps someone else will chime in with that information.
