I saw several Williams stock photos of the Lehigh & New England Alco FA-1 double "A" unit set with the cab numbers 701 and 708 and was wondering if that was the actual cab number of the new sets. I bought a set of these several years ago which are great runners and the cabs were numbered 702 and 709. If they are now different I'll have to get another set. If any of you reading this bought a recent set can you tell me if the cab numbers for the current production run are 701 and 708 like the picture? Thanks and cheers!

I know there are at least TWO numbers for the PRR Fa-1 Sets. The original with incorrect numbers and current run with correct numbers.
I'd be a lot happier if they had lit number boards and marker lights!
Possible differances with roadnumbers in Williams is the date of being produced, one set of engines could be a Crown Edition(almost 20 years ago) and one could be a more modern run right before Bachmann buyout, or WBB production.
Sorry but the Fa-1 scale was NOT a crown edition loco. IT was a new mold Made around the turn of the century.
gc1719,
I just bought this set yesterday at the LHS. The road numbers are 701 & 708. Now I need to find an FB for the set and a L&NE caboose.
Henry,
Thank you very much for the response and confirming the cab numbers. Looks like I'll have to get another set now. If you are interested, MTH made a nice northeastern style caboose, item number 20-91325, a few years ago that doesn't have constant voltage lighting so it works well with these engines. Cheers, Glenn
