Gregg,

Seems a feature reset restores  the name you've given an engine back to the original factory name... Id remains the same.  I knew a factory reset  did  this but unless I've screwed up, this has changed ?

No, AFAIK it has not.

I've done any number of Feature Resets under DCS 5.0 and have not experienced this at all. Exactly how did you come to the conclusion that it eliminated the Custom Name? When you did the feature Reset in the remote, did the name in the remote spontaneously change?

Gregg,

You are correct! We have what appears to be the first new bug in DCS 5.0. Thanks for finding it!

I verified the bug via the following:

  • Added an engine
  • Edited its name
  • Exercised the engine
  • Did a Feature Reset - the custom name was gone and the original engine's name was now in the remote.
  • Deleted the engine
  • Re-added the engine and it added with it's original name. This demonstrated that the custom name was deleted in the engine itself, as opposed to simply in the remote.

I'm now going to report this to MTH.
