Darlene tells me the Northerns are now $740

Still shows $789 on the website for 3751, but three other steam locomotives are $740.
And they'll be $699 next week...
Oh, you're hurting me! That's getting close to half price! Ouch!!!!
OK...now that makes me a little upset..... Perhaps I will return mine and reorder???
Seriously though....this kind of discount pricing and juggling sometimes causes hurt feelings.... AND causes folks to just wait a little longer before purchasing just in case the price goes down even more. So now I could have just waited a couple of days to save another $50.00. How long do I have to wait to save $100.00 more??? Oh well....mine will be arriving this Friday.

That Christmas Bonus can't get here fast enough!
There is one on the Buy/Sell forum for $575 right now. It's not mine

I wonder how many there were available to start with.
glad I didn't wait for the price to drop it was still a good price at 789 in my opinion.

That is not the Legacy version, it is TMCC. A very nice locomotive though, I used to have one.

That is one FINE TMCC loc, BTW. (Not mine--I won't sell mine.)

Eliot...why don't you take Darlene out for another Starbucks and maybe the prices of all Legacy locs will go down 50%.

Beautiful, petite, polite, and friendly Ginny? I just don't think so.
did anyone here ever purchase any other items from hobby station?
wife ordered a car from them on May 19 2013 the only correspondence she received was that the item was going to ship on may 25 2013. nothing since. she has emailed several times and called several more time, nothing.
today 6-5-2013 she contacted the credit card company to dispute the charge. she is also going to contact Lionel as their web site states they are a "Authorized Value Added Lionel Dealer".
heads up all.

Sure. For years.
They're not necessarily the easiest to communicate with, though. Was a thread about it several months ago.
What's the web site?

A former partner of mine used to say "if you lower the price the customer will never know what the right price is"

STILL a lot of cash.......but I'd love to own one. Look at it this way. I bought the Lionel Lionmaster PRR T1 from my hobby shop full retail. Back in the old days runs did sell out and if you didn't order you might get left out. Needless to say they are available at MUCH less than the $700 I paid. And in fact I bought a all but new scale T1 for $450 delivered......so should I be mad now???? It's the way things work.

Everything in life is a moving target nowadays. Makes it difficult no matter where you sit in the supply chain. Everyone's wondering who's gonna flinch first. One thing is for sure... It feels MUCH better going on a shopping spree in Blowout-ville rather than place huge pre-orders when the catalogs are first released!!!

I believe the merchant referred to in this thread is Hobby Station of Bethune, SC
The website is:

The northerns are long gone. BigDodge resurrected a 6-month old thread!
I don't recall ever purchasing from these folks so I can't say anything, good or bad, about their customer service. -Ted
