What do you do, if anything, to hide seams between the edges of your structures and the surrounding scenery?

I ask this because I believe many of us are not satisfied when things on our layouts do not blend in nicely, like they tend to do in the real world.

This topic came to me when I posted this photo on another thread a few minutes ago, which shows this HO Scale theater on my O Gauge layout (my wife has always loved the theater and now participates in a virtual acting class):

As I mentioned on my prior post, I believe the reddish brown granules (I love that color) are Woodland Scenics Fine Ballast.

What products and/or techniques do you use to hide the seams on your layout?

The seams between the bottom of a building foundation and the layout surface must be concealed, and it’s not enough just to place a building on top of the ground cover. One way of doing this is to build up the ground cover around the foundation, which can also be done with wood strips, sidewalks or platforms that lock the building precisely into position and cover any visible gap at the bottom of the foundation. These pictures show two buildings on my layouts and the table surfaces that surround them. Sometimes I just use ground cover applied around the edges of the building. Sometimes I glue thin wood strips to the table to position the foundation edges and then apply ground cover to the strips. Sometimes I glue a piece of sidewalk or wood platform to the table so that it sits against the foundation. The buildings can just be lifted off the layout.
