Have been off OGR forum for years, as it became too much to keep up. However, at this time I’m ready to give it another go!

A little update toy train-wise: Sold the house in No. CA in the Spring of 2018, my hubby Tom then retired and we moved in May of  2018 to a much bigger historic home in Wichita. When we first saw this home In Sept of 2017 we knew it had a perfect room upstairs for holding a dedicated Standard Gauge Layout.

The existing Standard Gauge Layout table top we had built and created in 2016 could not navigate the narrow stairway, BUT it did fit perfectly at the back end of the Great Room on the Main Floor. I refer to it as my  “Showcase“ Layout- as it has some special goodies on it.

Two years in, Spring of 2020 it was the right time to build the Upstairs Standard Gauge Layout. Construction started during the lockdown sheltering-in in March. While hubby was cutting and staining and prepping all the wood, I was creating a paper mache’, chicken wire, and drywall MOUNTAIN on the Breakfast Room table.

Late this Summer, we started work on my Upstairs O Gauge Layout. Another dedicated room!

Plenty of pics and vids I want to share will follow, as I get back into the swing of things here...

Carey,

Welcome back to OGR.  Much has changed since you were here last but also much has stayed the same.  The great folks that visit this site are still here.  Changes in technology and offerings have changed a little as time marches on.

Your video of the train room was great!  Loved those standard gauge sets running in the foreground and the O Gauge tinplate in the background.  You've accomplished quite a bit in a brief period of time.

Looking forward to more video's of your layout.

You and Tom have probably already discovered the O-gauge club in Wichita.  They are O-gaugers, but also Lionel Loyalists. Good company!

Do you mean the Wichita Toy train Museum? We are members. NO Standard Gauge there! I think I am the lone wolf out here for it. waaah.

If there is a O Gaugers specific CLUB in Wichita, we have not found it.
